Ladies Bring In Rowe

Pompey make third signing of the summer

5 July 2018

Danielle Rowe has become Pompey Ladies’ third signing of the summer after completing a switch to the Blues.

The 21-year-old midfielder spent seven years at Brighton and graduated from the under-14s right the way through to the first team.

After making 15 senior appearances for the Seagulls – 10 of which arrived during their title-winning campaign – she had a nine-month sabbatical to go travelling, prior to a brief spell with Lewes.

Rowe side: “I joined Pompey as it’s a club with a lot of potential and has great backing from the men’s side. I believe this club can really go places and I’d love to be a part of that.

“Jay, his staff and all the girls have been really welcoming and I just can’t wait for the season to get started – and hopefully enjoy my football again!”

Blues boss Jay Sadler added: “We have signed a fantastic player and an equally fantastic person in Danielle. Her character and mentality will complement our current group and make us even stronger.

“She is tactically aware and reads the game very well. Although still young, her past experiences – including winning the league with Brighton – will aid us and it shows the direction this club is going in.

“The three signings we have now made gives us new opportunities and brings excitement with it. I’m sure our supporters will make them welcome at our wonderful club and in this amazing city.”

You can see Rowe – along with other summer signings Millie Carter and Ellie Russell – in action for the first time when Pompey travel to Maidstone on Sunday, July 15 (12 pm kick-off).
