Pompey fans will need to cover more than 8,000 miles if they want to watch all 23 of their side’s League One away matches next season.
Supporters will no doubt start to familiarise themselves with routes and motorway service stations as soon as the 2018/19 fixture list is unveiled at 9am on Thursday, June 21.
There will be seven new sides entering the division, with Sunderland, Burton and Barnsley dropping out of the Championship, while Accrington, Luton, Wycombe and Coventry have climbed out of the fourth tier.
A visit to the Stadium of Light to face the first of those clubs represents the longest trek of the campaign, with a 669-mile round-trip requiring almost 12 hours on the road.
Accrington is a familiar venue for Pompey fans and is fourth on the list at 548.4 miles, with Barnsley eighth at 468.4 miles.
Luton and Wycombe are, thankfully, much shorter journeys, although AFC Wimbledon is still the most local at just over an hour away from Fratton Park.
According to the AA, supporters going to every game (assuming Pompey’s stadium is the starting point), will spend a total of almost 150 hours travelling to and from grounds.
