Ronan Curtis has been named in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for this month’s UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Martin O’Neill’s side have home matches against Denmark (October 13) and Wales (October 16).

If he does not make the final line-up, then Curtis will instead travel with the under-21s for games in Israel and Germany.

It means that the Pompey forward is set to miss the Checkatrade Trophy contest at Crawley and League One clash at AFC Wimbledon.

Curtis was also named in the Ireland squad for last month’s friendly in Poland, but he did not make it off the bench.
