Match Preview: Keynsham v Pompey Women

Blues in Plate action on Sunday

20 October 2018

After having no game last weekend, Pompey Women return to action when they visit Keynsham in the National League Plate.

The second round tie takes place at the AJN Stadium and gives the Blues a chance to carry on their strong form on the road this season.

Pompey will also be looking to right the wrongs from their last performance against Plymouth a fortnight ago.

Jessie Jones’ brace and a goal from Kayley Lane meant they emerged empty-handed following the league contest at the PMC Stadium.

Although competing in a division below, Keynsham will likely provide a tough test for the Blues this weekend.

With five wins from their opening five league matches – and scoring 37 goals in the process – they sit top of Division One South West.

There was also a 7-1 rout of Southampton Saints – who are currently sixth in the same division – last week to set-up Sunday’s contest and ensure they will be full of confidence.

Blues boss Jay Sadler has a fully-fit squad to choose from, but will be watching from the stands after being a handed a two-match touchline ban.

You can see if Pompey Women can progress to the third round of the National League Plate at the AJN Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
