After a year away, Rebekah Tonks is back with the Blues to compete in her third season in a Pompey shirt.
The defender has started six of the nine fixtures so far this term – and will look to make it seven in Sunday’s National League Plate tie at Keynsham.
With no fixture last week, the break might prove key in restoring Pompey’s form following a busy start to the campaign.
Tonks said: “After a long run of games, I feel it was a really good opportunity for everyone to take a well-earned break to rest, recover and regroup.”
Pompey eased to a 9-0 victory at Poole in their last outing in the National League Plate three weeks ago.
"It was a really good opportunity for everyone to take a well-earned break to rest, recover and regroup."
And Tonks believes that the Blues are fully prepared for their next contest following their extended break.
She said: “All the girls have been working really hard over the past two weeks in training. I think I speak for the whole squad in saying that we’re really looking forward to getting back to action and to hopefully come away with the result.
“To score nine goals in a cup game is always going to be a confidence boost. It certainly gives us the edge going into the next round.”
