Pompey Women have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of winger Esther Anu.
She progressed through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace, going on to have spells with Bristol City and Millwall’s development sides.
Anu then made the step up to senior football when she was given a breakthrough at QPR during the 2016/17 season.
A move to fellow National League South side Gillingham followed and she scored twice in 12 matches last term.
The 21-year-old joins Pompey ahead of this afternoon’s league fixture with Watford at the PMC Stadium and goes straight into the starting 11.
"This versatility, along with the pace and power she brings, will cause nightmares for most defences."
Blues boss Jay Sadler said: “We’re delighted to welcome Esther to Portsmouth. She is a player I have a lot of admiration for, having caught the eye last season when playing for Gillingham and also when training with us over the past few weeks.
“She can play in a variety of attacking positions – on either wing, centrally in the hole behind the nine and also as the nine.
“This versatility, along with the pace and power she brings, will cause nightmares for most defences.
“In front of goal she excites me too, and I feel her addition will only strengthen what is already a very strong and dynamic attacking line-up.”
