Hannah Geer does not want a repeat of last week’s first half on Sunday.
Pompey Women needed a second half comeback in order to beat Gillingham at the PMC Stadium.
It ensured they maintained a 100 per cent record following a convincing opening day victory at C&K Basildon.
Geer has started both of the Blues’ game this season and netted her first two goals for the club in the first of them.
Speaking in the programme for Sunday’s National League Cup clash with Chichester, she said: “Once we got a hold of the game, I was able to attack more and it was great to score my first two goals for Portsmouth.
“In the first half (against Gillingham), I think we can agree we were poor. I gave a silly foul away which resulted in Gillingham scoring their free-kick just before the break.”
"I was able to attack more and it was great to score my first two goals for Portsmouth."
After a regroup at the break, the hosts were able to fight their way back into the contest and Geer added: “We scored right at the start of the second half and after that, we could calm down and, as a team, worked hard in testing conditions to win 4-1.”
Also in issue two, Daisy McLachlan reveals her firsts and lasts, while there are the usual roundups from chairman Eric Coleborn and manager Jay Sadler.
The 36-page packed matchday magazine is available for just £1 at the PMC Stadium this Sunday.
