Pompey Women start their National League Cup against Chichester on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
Jay Sadler’s side have picked up six points from a possible six in the league so far this season, but now attention turns cup progress.
The Blues were handed a tie at home to fellow National League side Chichester, who also maintained their 100 per cent start to the last weekend with a 3-0 win at Plymouth.
Meanwhile, second half strikes from Shannon Albuery, Jade Bradley, Daisy McLachlan and Katie James earned Pompey all three points against Gillingham, despite the hosts going in behind at the break.
Ahead of the tie, Carla Perkins said: “Everyone loves a cup run. You get to go to new grounds and meet new teams along the way. All the players are ready for Sunday.”
Commenting on the preparation going into the game, she added: “It's been challenging due to the amount of tactical information we have had to take on board, but the atmosphere has been great around the camp.”
