It is a blossoming partnership that is already starting to bear fruit.
Jamal Lowe and Ronan Curtis were at it again when Plymouth visited Fratton Park and left on the back of a 3-0 defeat.
The latter bagged a brace to move his personal tally up to five, with the former’s goal sandwiched in between.
And Lowe is delighted with the way the duo are linking up, while also knowing they need to maintain their high standards.
He said: “The first one was a great team goal. I’m always thinking of shooting, but I made the right choice to pass to Ronan.
“It’s been a feature of our season so far that he sets me up and I set him up. We’ve got a pretty decent partnership going on.

“Obviously he’s got two on this occasion and I got the assist for one of them, while he got one for my goal.
“But you’ve still got to keep putting pressure on yourself to perform because there are players who can step up to replace us in the side.
“Now we’ve made more signings to add even more strength and quality to the squad, which is important with a lot of games coming up.”
It was ultimately a convincing victory over Argyle, although Lowe was relieved when his goal went in to double Pompey’s advantage.
The forward said: “It was a comfortable win in the end and we finished off the job professionally, so I’m happy with the performance.
“But at 1-0 it was dangerous and they could easily have got a goal – perhaps we had a bit of complacency at times.
“Once we got the second it was pretty much game over and just a case of how many we could score from there.”
