Pompey Women Sign Rowlands

Blues swoop for goalkeeper

30 September 2018

Pompey Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Jaime Rowlands.

The Blues have secured the capture of the 16-year-old stopper after two seasons playing for Southampton Women’s reserves.

Rowlands began her career with Pompey’s academy, leaving for Southampton RTC prior to her time with their city neighbours.

The teenager is now set to feature in this afternoon’s National League Plate tie at Poole Town, which kicks-off at 2pm.

Blues boss Jay Sadler said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jaime to the Pompey family. She is an exciting young prospect who we have been monitoring for a while.

“Jaime has many great qualities, both on and off the pitch, which will complement the group very well.

“I believe we now have three fantastic goalkeepers at the club and I’m sure she will be able to learn a lot from both Robyn and Mel.”
