Match Preview: Pompey Women v Oxford

Final home game of the season on Sunday

27 April 2019

Pompey Women face Oxford in their final home game of the season at the PMC Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

And the Blues will be looking to avenge the 2-1 National League loss suffered at Court Place Farm just two weeks ago.

Katie James looked to have secured a point with a fine free-kick that cancelled out Georgia Timms’ opener.

But a strike from Emily Allen nestled into the bottom corner right at the death to ensure they travelled back to the south coast empty-handed.

United – who sit fourth in the table – have since lifted their County Cup, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over rivals Oxford City.

Pompey also added to their own trophy haul with a 15-0 rout of Horndean in the Portsmouth District FA Cup final.

Jade Bradley was named Player of the Season for the women’s team at Wednesday evening’s awards dinner and is in contention to start.

Blues boss Jay Sadler has no new injury concerns ahead of the contest, with a fully-fit squad to select from.

And you can see if Pompey can finish the home campaign on a positive note by making a trip to the PMC Stadium (PO3 5LY).

Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (63+/U18), with a matchday magazine available for just £1.
