Portsmouth Football Club can confirm that a planning application has been submitted to move one of the unused floodlight pylons at Fratton Park.
If the application is successful, the pylon would be moved into the North Stand car park.
Pompey chief executive Mark Catlin said: “Our board have always been clear that the history and heritage of the club are very important to us.
“By potentially relocating one of the historic floodlight pylons, we hope to provide improved lighting in the car park, while keeping a part of our history intact and also freeing up space in the stadium for any future works.”
