Pompey saw off Birmingham to book their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
They enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory at Fratton Park and dominated for most of the contest.
Ellis Harrison opened the scoring with a header that just crossed the line, while Ben Close volleyed home an impressive second.
