Match Preview: Pompey Women v Leyton Orient

Blues at home in the FA Cup

7 December 2019

Pompey Women make a welcome return to the PMC Stadium this afternoon for a second round tie in the FA Cup.

It is the first time Jay Sadler’s side have been in action on home soil since losing to Oxford back in September.

They have not played a game for a fortnight, with wet weather causing this game to be postponed last Sunday.

But the Blues will still be looking to carry some momentum into the contest following a 2-1 league victory at Cardiff in their last outing.

Tamsin de Bunsen’s strike and an Eilidh Currie stunner ensured they left the Welsh capital with all three points.

Now they face a tough test against an Orient outfit sitting third in Division One South East of the National League – one level below Pompey.

The sides have already met once this season, with the Blues romping to a 6-1 win in the League Cup in October.

Pompey enter the FA Cup at this stage, while their opponents beat Cheltenham 1-0 to progress to the second round.

Tickets can be bought on the gate at the PMC Stadium (PO3 5LY) and are priced £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (U18/63+).
