The pressure is on Pompey as they approach the business end of the season.
But Viv Solomon-Otabor still thinks they can enjoy themselves as they try to secure promotion to the Championship.
The winger – who will wear the number 19 shirt during his time at Fratton Park – completed a deadline day loan switch from Birmingham.
And after impressing during a season-long stay with Blackpool last term, he knows what it takes to do well at this level.
The 23-year-old said: “I’m eager to get out there, play football and show everyone what I can do. That’s what I came here for.
“It was a good experience for me last season and I know a lot about this league, what my strengths are and what’s needed for me to do well.
"I want to show my ability on the ball, have fun, express myself and score all different kinds of goals."
“This is a massive club and so it’s an exciting move for me, especially because this club are pushing for promotion to the Championship.
“I want to show my ability on the ball, have fun, express myself and score all different kinds of goals. I just want to be happy.
“All I want to do is play and get as many games as possible under my belt, so I can continue to develop between now and the end of the season.”
Solomon-Otabor scored against the Blues during their dramatic 3-2 victory at Bloomfield Road last season.
He said: “It was a crazy game and I can’t remember who took the lead, but it ended up being a tough one for us.
“It was good to score, although now I just want to focus on getting as many goals for Pompey as possible.”
