It was in the 90th minute that Andre Green scored his winning goal at Rochdale to book Pompey a place in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
And the on-loan Aston Villa winger left it even later to knock Championship side Norwich out in the next stage of the competition.
After coming off the bench – like he did at Spotland – he struck the only goal of an absorbing contest in the dying seconds of stoppage-time.
Green collected a fine cross-field pass from Dion Donohue before hitting a shot into the net off the post to send the large army of travelling fans wild with delight.
The 20-year-old said: “It was up there with one of the best moments of my career. My first league goal was against Norwich, so I had a good feeling when I came on.
“It almost seemed to go in slow motion. We’re a good counter-attacking side and luckily Dion spotted my run.
"It was up there with one of the best moments of my career."
“There was a bit of fortune because of the way the ball ricocheted to me. I’m just happy that the ball came back to me and ended up in the net.
“Scoring in the last minute is always nice and you could tell what it meant from my run towards the Pompey fans.
“The adrenaline took over after that with my celebrations and it’s all about giving something back to the supporters who travelled to back us.”
Green has had fleeting opportunities to impress since an injury-hit start to his Pompey career, but has remained patient.
He said: “I want to play every minute, but the team is flying in the league and we’ve got a lot of good attacking players.
“That’s how it’s going to be in my career – I’ll have to work hard because nothing just gets handed to you.
“This is all an important learning curve for me and I know what needs to be done for me to get into this team.”
