Carabao Cup Draw On Thursday

Pompey to discover first round opponents

17 June 2019

Pompey will discover their first round Carabao Cup opponents when the draw takes place later this week.

John Barnes and Ray Parlour will select the fixtures, which will be regionalised into southern and northern sections.

The draw will be held at a Morrisons supermarket in Colindale, London at 7pm on Thursday (June 20).

It will include all League One and League Two clubs – including competition debutants Salford – and 22 sides from the Championship.

Recently relegated Huddersfield are in the hat, while Cardiff and Fulham join in the second round, alongside those Premier League teams that are not competing in Europe.

The matches are scheduled to take place in the week commencing August 12.
