Portsmouth FC Women are delighted to announce that Jane Eisner has become a Patron of the club.
She founded the Eisner Foundation – along with husband Michael – in 1996 and currently serves as its President.
The foundation is a Los Angeles-based philanthropic organisation which encourages intergenerational solutions for the enrichment of the community.
Meanwhile, Pompey commercial director Anna Mitchell has joined the board of the women’s team.
Pompey Women chairman Eric Coleborn said: “We are delighted to welcome Jane and Anna into the Pompey Women family.
“There is a danger in football of focusing only on match results and not enough on the other benefits that a women’s club can bring – especially to youngsters.
"We are delighted to welcome Jane and Anna into the Pompey Women family."
“We believe that Jane and Anna will bring a fresh perspective to Pompey Women’s activities with their vast expertise and wealth of knowledge.
“This can help us to reach more supporters – both young and old. This is another milestone in our history.”
Jane added: “I’m delighted and honoured to have been asked to become a patron of Pompey Women.”
Anna said: “I’m honoured to join the Pompey Women’s board to ensure there are even closer links between the teams.
“Football is the fastest growing participation sport among girls in the UK and we want to help grow its profile locally.
“With our fantastic links to the University of Portsmouth and the development sides run by Pompey in the Community, we can hopefully encourage even more females from the area to take part.”
