Match Preview: Pompey Women v Chichester

Blues in midweek action

26 March 2019

Pompey Women take on Chichester in a floodlit fixture at the PMC Stadium this evening (7.45pm kick-off).

Jay Sadler’s side head into the National League encounter after suffering a disappointing 3-0 loss to Cardiff on Sunday.

All of the visitors’ goals arrived before the break, with Grace Horrell opening the scoring before Cerys Jones added a brace.

The result meant that the Welsh side leapfrogged tonight’s opponents into second spot in the standings.

Chichester had the weekend off and have not been in action for 10 days, thrashing C&K Basildon – who are still without a win – 8-0 in their last outing.

Former Pompey midfielder Molly Clarke certainly enjoyed herself against the division’s basement club, netting four times.

Former Lilywhites players Alex Collighan and Jade Widdows will look to put a dent in the visitors’ title challenge.

And there are no new injury concerns to concern Sadler, with Jaime Rowlands and Mel Burns both still out with finger injuries.

Tickets for tonight’s game can be bought at the PMC Stadium and are priced at £5 for adults, and £2 for concessions (63+/U18).

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet Blues stars Ben Close, Adam May, Rachel Panting and Amelia Southgate from 6.30pm.
