Danielle Rowe has been ever-present for Pompey Women as their midfield anchor this season.
And now she is looking for her side to bounce back from last week’s disappointing defeat at Coventry when MK Dons visit the PMC Stadium.
The title-chasers hit four unanswered goals past the Blues to condemn Jay Sadler’s side to just their second defeat of 2019.
Speaking in the programme for Sunday’s National League contest, Rowe said: “Since Christmas, of course we've gained a nice bit of momentum.
“We set very high expectations for ourselves as a team – which, in my opinion, can only be a good thing.
“It would have been very easy to let our heads drop and go into a slump after the run we had at the end of 2018, but I think it’s credit to all of the girls and the management team to not let that happen.”
"We set very high expectations for ourselves as a team – which, in my opinion, can only be a good thing."
Reflecting on last week’s loss at high-flying Coventry, Rowe added: “We know Sunday wasn't good enough from us.
“We have analysed the game at training this week and spoken about what we need to do to ensure we improve. So now we need to focus on MK Dons.”
Also in issue 11, we take a look back at Pompey's 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, while there are the usual round-ups from Blues boss Jay Sadler and chairman Eric Coleborn.
The packed 36-page programme is available for just £1 at the PMC Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
