Pompey Up For Two Awards Tonight

Football Business Awards take place in the capital

28 November 2019

Pompey have been shortlisted in two categories at tonight’s Football Business Awards in London.

The club’s close relationship with the University of Portsmouth has seen them nominated for the Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year prize.

They are up against the EFL, Barcelona, Leeds, Norwich, The National League and West Brom in that category.

And the Blues have also been shortlisted for the Best Use of Technology in a Football Club award, competing with Birmingham, Chelsea, Manchester United, Norwich and Swansea.

"It’s a fantastic achievement to be nominated for two Football Business Awards and it reinforces the hard work that is undertaken across the football club."

Anna Mitchell

Chief commercial officer Anna Mitchell said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to be nominated for two Football Business Awards and it reinforces the hard work that is undertaken across the football club.

“We’re particularly delighted to be recognised for our successful partnership with the University of Portsmouth, which has benefitted both parties greatly over the past year-and-a-half.”

Pompey have enjoyed plenty of success at the Football Business Awards in the past, having received three nominations at last year’s event, while, Mark Catlin was named CEO of the Year in 2016.

The Football Business recognise and reward the off-pitch talents and endeavours that are an invaluable, if sometimes invisible, part of the fabric of football.
