Pompey Women have bolstered their squad with the addition of Rosie McDonnell.

The 22-year-old left-back featured 19 times for Coventry last season, helping them secure the National League South title.

She made her debut for hometown club Bradford back in 2013 and went on to make 67 appearances for the Bantams.

McDonnell then signed for Coventry, competing in a total of 47 fixtures before her arrival on the south coast.

"I’m looking forward to putting on the shirt and playing for one of the biggest and best supported clubs in the south."

She said: “Pompey have welcomed me in and the intensity at training has pushed me to work at a high level.

Blues boss Jay Sadler added: “I’m delighted to welcome Rosie to Pompey. She is an exceptionally talented individual who will add more quality to this group of players.

“Her wealth of experience – having won the league last time out with Coventry – will also aid us, as that’s the direction everyone at this club is working towards.

“I’m certain Rosie will contribute straight away and she possesses all the characteristics to be a top player here at Portsmouth.”
