Ronan Curtis played a key role in Republic of Ireland’s 3-1 victory over Bulgaria on Tuesday evening.
The Pompey winger was on the pitch for 84 minutes of the international friendly in Dublin, earning his third senior cap.
And it was his speculative shot that was spilled by keeper Hristo Ivanov to allow Alan Browne to open the scoring.
Curtis had been an unused substitute five days earlier, as Ireland came from behind to draw 1-1 with Switzerland in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
On-loan midfielder Ross McCrorie has also been on international duty, skippering Scotland’s under-21 side to wins against San Marino and Croatia.
Craig MacGillivray received his first call-up to the Scottish senior side and was an unused substitute for qualifying defeats to Russia and Belgium.
