Pompey Academy Continue Partnership With Milkwood Care

Logo of local care homes to appear on back of U18 shirts

30 September 2019

Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to confirm that Milkwood Care will continue to support the  academy for the next two seasons.

By renewing as the official Academy Sponsor until 2021, Milkwood Care are committed to supporting the development of grassroots football, as well as future Pompey Academy graduates.

Based in Petersfield and providing a range of specialist care homes across the South of England, the Milkwood Care logo will appear on the back of the U18s’ home and away shirts for the next two seasons.

Anna Mitchell, Pompey’s chief commercial officer, hopes that Milkwood Care will continue to play a big part in supporting academy manager Mark Kelly and all the staff.

She said: “It is great to have Milkwood Care renew as a club partner for a further two seasons.

“They have supported the club and helped us promote a number of young players into the first team over the past couple of years and we believe that this agreement will help to ensure that trend continues.”

Robin Cheesman, director at Milkwood Care, added: “We are delighted to continue supporting the Pompey Academy again this year. Milkwood Care are celebrating 20 years in business in 2019 and it’s strange to think that all of the academy players weren’t even born back in 1999!

“We hope that some of the current academy players will follow in the footsteps of Ben Close, Jack Whatmough and Brandon Haunstrup – among others – and graduate to the first team."
