Carabao Cup clash set for August 29

21 August 2020

Carabao Cup

The date has been set for Pompey’s Carabao Cup first round clash with Stevenage.

Kenny Jackett’s side will open the 2020/21 campaign at Broadhall Way on Saturday, August 29 (3pm kick-off).

Ties were provisionally scheduled for the weekend of September 5/6, but the clubs mutually agreed to bring the game forward.

It means that the Blues’ pre-season friendly at Bristol City – which was scheduled for August 29 – has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Pompey can also confirm the order of their fixtures in the group stage of the EFL Trophy.

They will be at home to Colchester in the week commencing September 7, before visiting Southend (w/c October 5) and hosting West Ham U21s (w/c November 9). Dates/times will be confirmed in due course.

Pompey will begin the new League One campaign against Shrewsbury at Fratton Park on Saturday, September 12. Click here to see the full fixture list.
