There is always a hotly-contested battle to see who can claim the Christmas number one.
This year sees Hull and Pompey clashing for the right to potentially be looking down on the rest of League One on December 25.
The two heavyweights meet at the KCOM Stadium on Friday and it a contest that the whole nation can watch on Sky Sports.
And despite not prizes being handed out for sitting at the summit after 19 games, Cam Pring still believes it is something to cherish.
The loanee said: “We could have gone top on Tuesday evening and the boys were disappointed not to secure all three points against Fleetwood.
“But it gives us an added incentive on Friday and it would be great if we could go to Hull and get a result.
"Our confidence is quite high at the moment and if we can go top, then it’s about trying to stay there."
“It would be brilliant. Our confidence is quite high at the moment and if we can go top, then it’s about trying to stay there.
“With the busy schedule, you don’t really get time to think about the other games that are ahead – they come thick and fast.
“All you can do is focus on the next one that comes along, so at the moment we’re just concentrating on going to Hull.”
Lee Brown’s hamstring injury means that Pring is likely to get a run of games during the festive period.
The left-back said: “It’s always tough when another player is out and you don’t like to see that, but it’s obviously good for me to get some more minutes.
“I’ve been in and out of the side a bit so far and hopefully I can get going now and really hit my stride.
“You feel that confidence start to rise and all the boys know how I play and what my strengths are. I’m really enjoying my time here.”
