Be Part Of Pompey's Biggest Team At The Great South Run

Join the Blue Wave in October

20 February 2020

Portsmouth Football Club are partnering with the Great South Run to produce a special 'Blue Wave' for Pompey fans to run.

If you are a Blues supporter and plan to take part in this year's event, then this is the perfect option for you.

Taking part in this wave means you will receive a number on a Pompey-branded bib, a timing chip for accurate results, an exclusive t-shirt, medal, goodie-filled finishers' pack and a training pack.

There are four races taking place across the Great South Run weekend – and all will include 'Blue Wave'.

Sat, October 17 Mini GSR 1.5k 3-8 £16

Becoming part of the 'Blue Wave' is easy – simply follow these simple steps:

Already signed up?
If you have already entered the Great South Run and wish to become a part of Pompey's 'Blue Wave', please send your name, email address and postcode to gsr@pompeyitc.org.uk as soon as possible.

Haven't signed up yet?
You will need to book through Pompey in the Community's official booking portal or call (023) 9272 8899. You will receive an email later in the year which will contain the link to an entry form. This ensures you receive an exclusive Pompey number and running pack.

Pompey-branded training schedules will be provided for those new to running, looking to improve or hoping to set a PB.

All participants have to chance to commit to raising at least £100 for Pompey in the Community, as part of the fundraising efforts to build the John Jenkins Stadium.

This £3.5 million sports complex will boast two 3G pitches, a central hub with classrooms, boxing gym, fitness suite and community club.

Clare Martin, CEO of Pompey in the Community, said: "This is such an exciting opportunity and representing the club in a race through the streets of Portsmouth is an experience nobody should miss.

"Whether you'll be running, jogging or walking, make sure to enjoy the Great South Run's unique atmosphere by signing up and setting yourself a real challenge for 2020."

Spaces in the Great South Run fill up fast, so make sure to act quickly if you are interested in taking part.
