Andy Cannon could make his return from injury against MK Dons on Tuesday evening.
The midfielder was close to being available again at Fleetwood on Saturday after recovering from a glute problem.
But Kenny Jackett is hoping he will be fit to feature at Fratton Park, while Ellis Harrison could also play after pulling out of the warm-up at Highbury.
The Blues boss said: “There’s certainly a chance for both of them, although I did also think that last week!
"We’ll make a final decision on Tuesday morning, but they were close on Saturday and I’m optimistic."

“Andy can give us something different in the number 10 position and links the play very well between defence and attack.
“There are no other injury concerns and we’re hopefully okay at the moment – long may that continue.”
Lee Brown missed the Fleetwood game with a sickness bug, but has recovered and is available to face MK Dons.
