Pompey have two games before some of their League One promotion rivals are in action again.

And Sean Raggett wants to see a maximum haul collected from this week’s Fratton fixtures against MK Dons and Rochdale.

Saturday’s narrow defeat at Fleetwood saw the Blues slip just outside the top six, although victory this evening would correct that.

And Raggett believes they have the quality required to put another run together and achieve success this season.

The centre-back said: “We’ve got quite a few home games coming up now, so hopefully we can get some more wins under our belt.

“There are some really big matches for us, but they’re the ones you want to be involved with and we’ll approach them full of confidence.

"You need grit and determination to get out of this division, but we’ve got that and it should stand us in good stead."

“The top of the table is so tight and we’ve still got to play a lot of the teams around us, so we’re in with a chance.

“You need grit and determination to get out of this division, but we’ve got that and it should stand us in good stead.

“MK Dons are a good side and we can’t afford to underestimate them because of their position in the league.

“There’s always a great atmosphere on a Tuesday night down at Fratton and I’m sure this one will be no different.

“It gives us an opportunity to bounce back from that defeat at Fleetwood and we want six points from these two fixtures this week.”

Pompey also have an FA Cup clash with Arsenal and trip to Wembley for the Leasing.com Trophy to look forward to.

Raggett said: “Our main focus is the league, but it obviously switches when those games come around and they’re big ones to be involved in.

“They get put to the back of the mind for now, though, because we’re only concentrating on trying to pick up points.”
