Steve Seddon’s Pompey career to date is made up of 11 games and 10 victories, one of which has earned a trip to Wembley.
The Birmingham loanee has played a key role in a number of goals and quickly become a favourite of the Fratton faithful.
Even the left-back himself has admitted his surprise at just how well things have gone since he headed south in January.
But Seddon is not getting carried away and knows there are plenty more important fixtures to negotiate in the weeks ahead.
He said: “You come in and perhaps play down your expectations because you don’t want to get ahead of yourself.
“But my time here so far as probably gone better than I could have hoped and it could still get even better.

“We’ve got big games coming up – home and away – and you just have to take each one as it comes along.
“Fleetwood are next on Saturday and they’re a really strong team. Both sides will have changed a lot since meeting in the FA Cup last month.
“There’s plenty of character and resilience in our squad, including those guys who aren’t in the team at the moment.
“You’d hope that a team with those kind of qualities will be successful and our recent form backs that up.”
Pompey beat Exeter in dramatic fashion to reach the Leasing.com Trophy final on Tuesday evening, with two goals scored in stoppage-time.
Seddon said: “Even after going 2-1 down we believed as a team that we could go on to win it, but I’m not sure many people would have put money on it.
“I haven’t played at Wembley before and it should be a great occasion – hopefully we can create some happy memories.”
