Brandon Haunstrup has returned to training following his meniscus injury.
The left-back had been out of action since last month’s draw with Peterborough after requiring an operation.
But he will not be involved when Pompey visit Walsall in the third round of the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday evening.
Assistant manager Joe Gallen said: “Brandon’s training again and he’s not up for selection for this game, although could be back on Saturday.

“Lee Brown and Ryan Williams are both on their way back from their injuries and making some good progress.
“Ryan’s closer to being available and is an outside chance for the weekend, while Lee will perhaps be a couple of weeks after that.
“We wanted Jack Whatmough to be ready for this game, but I do think that he still needs a couple more weeks.”
