James Bolton could make a surprise appearance for Pompey in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.
The right-back limped off the pitch with a thigh injury early in the second half of Tuesday evening’s Leasing.com Trophy win over Scunthorpe.
But it is not a serious issue and he might be fit enough to feature when Barnsley visit the south coast.
Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “James certainly has a chance of playing and I would currently rate him at 50/50.
“Ross McCrorie is back in training, but I doubt he’ll be involved on Saturday – common sense would say it’s next Tuesday that he’ll be looking at.

“Other than that we’re choosing from the same group as against Scunthorpe, with no new injury problems.
“The only exception is Cameron McGeehan, who obviously can’t play because he’s on loan from Barnsley.
“With Lee Brown, we’ll still saying February for his return, but that’s not too far away and he’s progressing well.”
