Pompey’s treatment room is starting to clear ahead of a busy run of league and cup fixtures.
And Jack Whatmough could soon be featuring for the first team again after 11 months on the sidelines.
The defender was an unused substitute for last weekend’s league win over AFC Wimbledon and skippered the reserves at Plymouth on Tuesday.
Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “Jack’s been training with us since November and we’ve give him enough time, so I think he’s ready.
“Ryan Williams is fit and available again, which we’re pleased with, while Brett Pitman is over his recent illness.
"People always ask me who I’m signing in January, but we’ve got some really good players coming back from injury."
“I don’t think Ross McCrorie will be available for Bolton on Saturday or the game next Tuesday, but the following weekend could be a realistic target.
“Lee Brown is bit further off and we’ve always said it will probably be February, although the physios are pleased with his progress.
“People always ask me who I’m signing in January, but we’ve got some really good players coming back from injury.”
