Kenny Jackett is pleased with the squad he has at his disposal ahead of a busy run of fixtures.
But he will make late decisions over whether James Bolton and Ellis Harrison can feature in Tuesday night’s Leasing.com Trophy clash with Scunthorpe.
Jack Whatmough could be handed a first appearance of the season following a long-term knee problem.
And with Pompey still competing in three different competitions, Jackett is happy to see others approaching full fitness.
The Blues boss said: “James has been off with an illness and Ellis has got a foot injury, so we will assess them tomorrow morning.
“We’re going pretty well in terms of players coming back and the squad is looking pretty strong at the moment.

“Jack’s had plenty of time and I’ve given him an extended period to train, while he came through the reserve game last week.
“He’s been on the bench for the past two games without getting on the pitch, so it’s all part of the natural progression.
“Ross McCrorie is back with us on Tuesday and should hopefully be fit again for the Barnsley and Lincoln games.
“Lee Brown is still likely to be out until February, but that’s edging nearer and nearer, with Bryn Morris the only long-term injury.”
