Christian Burgess has been named The News/Sports Mail Player of the Season.
The Pompey defender follows in the footsteps of Matt Clarke, who claimed the prize at the end of the previous two campaigns.
He collected 69 per cent of the votes in a poll run by readers of our local newspapers after impressing with his consistency.
Burgess has made 43 appearances this term and chipped in with four goals, including the winner at Bolton back in January.
Winger Ronan Curtis came second in the voting, with skipper Tom Naylor finishing up in third position.
Previous winners of the award include Alan Knight, Noel Blake Guy Whittingham, Peter Crouch, Arjan de Zeeuw, David James, Glen Johnson, Michael Doyle and Enda Stevens.
