Ben Close is set to miss Pompey’s midweek League One contest with Fleetwood at Fratton Park.
The midfielder went down during the first half of Saturday’s loss at Peterborough and had to receive treatment.
He was eventually substituted after the break and Kenny Jackett is not expecting him to be available on Tuesday night.
"Ben picked up an ankle injury and is struggling a bit with that. I don’t think he will be fit."
The Blues boss said: “Ben picked up an ankle injury and is struggling a bit with that. I don’t think he will be fit.
“We have to congratulate Ellis Harrison and his partner on the birth of their first child. He’s back training after a busy weekend.
“It was a tough one for Jack Whatmough on Saturday, but I think he’ll be better for having played that game and I’d have no hesitation about keeping him in.”
