McGeehan Welcomes Massive Matches

Midfielder interviewed in Fleetwood programme

10 March 2020

Pompey can go level on points with second-placed Rotherham if they beat Fleetwood this evening.

There are a number of clubs chasing automatic promotion to the Championship or, at the very least, a spot in the play-offs.

Both of the sides taking to the pitch at Fratton Park tonight are in with a shout, which should make for a tense encounter.

But Cameron McGeehan is revelling in the opportunity to be a part of so many crucial contests during the remainder of the season.

“You’re obviously going to look at results elsewhere and how they affect you,” he says in the official matchday magazine for tonight’s match. “But it’s important for us to take one game at a time.

“I’ve got that experience of knowing how to get over the line and if that can help us, then great.

"It’s been really nice to have been involved in these important matches that are massive for the club."

“But each player needs to ensure they know their own job in the team and keep calm to deal with the pressures that come with chasing success.

“There are a lot of big games coming up in the league, while we’ve also got a trip to Wembley to look forward to, of course.

“It’s been really nice to have been involved in these important matches that are massive for the club.
