The Pompey History Society are holding a History Day and Programme Fair in the Victory Lounge at Fratton Park on Sunday (March 15).

Entry is free for the event, which runs from 11am-3pm, but as a charitable organisation, the society will be offering short tours of the newly-named John Jenkins MBE boardroom and trophy cabinets in return for donations.

There will be a number of local and national programme dealers in attendance, with many forms of Blues and football memorabilia on sale.

The theme of the day is a commemoration of Pompey’s 1948/49 and 1949/50 title-winning teams.

The Pompey History Society have received a lottery grant to capture supporters’ memories from that time so they can be documented and accessed by future generations.

If anyone has any stories from this period, or even earlier, please do come along and share them or ask any questions you may have.

The Pompey History Society are a charitable organisation looking to preserve and conserve Portsmouth Football Club’s rich history.

They welcome donations of funding and memorabilia to archive memories of our famous football club.
