Loan Watch: Blues Feature In Friendlies And The FA Cup

Five Pompey loanees were in action over the weekend

5 October 2020

All of Pompey's loanees gained game time for their respective clubs over the weekend.

Reeco Hackett-Fairchild featured in Bromley’s 4-0 friendly win over Brentford B at the weekend, setting up the opener.

The forward’s header back across goal was converted by Michael Cheek to give his side the lead, with the Ravens netting three more times in their final pre-season fixture.

There were three Blues loanees in Gosport's starting line-up, but they couldn’t prevent a 3-1 FA Cup defeat to Hereford.

Harry Kavanagh and Gerard Storey completed 90 minutes, while Eoin Teggart was replaced at half-time with Shaun Gale’s men 1-0 down at the break.

Bognor Regis were also knocked out of the competition following a 5-0 defeat to Hayes and Yeading.

Young forward Alfie Stanley was used as a 67th-minute substitute, with the Rocks already three down at the SKYex Community Stadium.

Bromley will start their Vanarama National League campaign at home to Dover on Tuesday (October 6), while Bognor take on Carshalton Athletic at Nyewood Lane.

Gosport will wait an extra day before being back in action, with their home match against Walton Casuals taking place on Wednesday night (October 7).
