I would like to personally apologise to our fantastic management, players, staff and supporters for the administrative error which has culminated in us being removed from this season’s Women’s FA Cup.
The club is run by a fantastic group of volunteers and having such a short amount of time to put a lot of measures in place for last Sunday’s game against Cheltenham has led to an unfortunate oversight.
We confirmed to The FA that we had made a completely unintentional mistake, but unfortunately, after deliberation, they decided to remove us from the competition.
I would like to thank my incredible team for the support and understanding they have shown in these difficult times as we try to get back to some sort of normality. I also look forward to seeing all our friends and supporters at games in the near future.
We now only have one competitive game left to play this season – last season’s Hampshire Cup final.
If we continue to come out of lockdown as planned, I believe that we will be able to have fans in attendance at this fixture when the date is announced.
Nothing will give me greater pleasure than seeing our supporters at this game and our captain lifting the cup for yet another year.
