Gavin Bazunu and Ronan Curtis have been selected in the Republic of Ireland squad for a trio of international matches.
Stephen Kenny’s side resume their World Cup qualifying campaign with a tricky trip to Portugal on Wednesday, September 1 (7.45pm kick-off).
They then return to Dublin for matches against Azerbaijan on Saturday, September 4 (5pm kick-off) and Serbia on Tuesday, September 7 (7.45pm kick-off).
Forward Curtis, 25, will be looking to add to his seven senior caps, while 19-year-old keeper Bazunu has appeared four times for his country.
Joe Morrell is also heading off on international duty, having been selected in the Wales squad.
The trio will miss Pompey’s trip to AFC Wimbledon in the group stages of the Papa John’s Trophy.
