Latest on Robertson and Harness knocks

18 August 2021

Danny Cowley has not ruled out Clark Robertson and Marcus Harness featuring at Doncaster on Saturday.

The duo were both withdrawn at the interval of Pompey’s midweek League One victory over Shrewsbury.

Winger Harness went off with a quad problem, while skipper Robertson had taken a whack to the ankle.

And Cowley is hopeful that the duo – who have helped Pompey start the season with three successive league wins – will not be kept out of action for too long.

The Blues boss said: “They were both in early for treatment on Wednesday to get the inflammation down.

"Neither of them can feel it while they’re walking, which is obviously a positive thing, but it’s too early to say just yet."

“We want that to happen as quickly as possible in order for us to be able to make an assessment on the injuries.

“Neither of them can feel it while they’re walking, which is obviously a positive thing, but it’s too early to say just yet.

“We don’t anticipate either of them being out for too long, though, and are still hopeful for the weekend.”

Paul Downing and Louis Thompson are both available for selection at Doncaster, but Jayden Reid (knee) and Liam Vincent (shin) remain sidelined.
