The winners of the Papa John's Trophy tie between Exeter and Pompey will be away to Cambridge in round three.
The tie will be played in the week commencing January 3, meaning that Danny Cowley's men could be heading to the Abbey Stadium twice in the space of a few days.
The sides are due to meet in a League One contest at the same venue on Monday, January 3 (3pm kick-off).
