Jacobs Awarded Gillingham Goal

Panel decide in favour of Pompey star

1 December 2021

Pompey's stoppage-time winner at Gillingham on Saturday has been officially credited to Michael Jacobs.

Some members of the media initially reported an own-goal for Jack Tucker when the ball hit the net at Priestifeld Stadium.

But the EFL's dubious goals panel have decided that Jacobs should receive the plaudits for securing three points for the Blues.

It means that the midfielder has found the net twice this season, having also scored against AFC Wimbledon the previous week.
