Pompey have signed George Byers on loan from Swansea for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.
The 24-year-old midfielder will wear the number 16 shirt during his time on the south coast.
Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “He’s got just over 50 appearances in the Championship and is a talented attacking midfield player.
“We want to be as strong possible in every area of the pitch, especially as we’re not even halfway through the season yet.

“With the arrival of George – along with the signing of Harvey White – we have real competition and options in the centre of the pitch.”
Byers is a product of Watford’s academy, but made a single senior appearance for them before joining Swansea in the summer of 2016.
Initially featuring for their under-21 side in the EFL Trophy, he was handed his first team debut in a Carabao Cup loss to Crystal Palace in August 2018.
He was a regular for the Welsh side in the Championship last season, but missed the play-off games with Brentford through injury.
Byers – who is a former Scotland youth international – has scored eight goals in 65 outings for the Swans.
