Michael Jacobs makes his first Pompey start for more than two months in this afternoon’s Emirates FA Cup tie at Bristol City.

He replaces Ronan Curtis in one of two changes from the side that beat Hull in the league before Christmas.

The other switch comes at left-back, where the fit-again Lee Brown replaces Cam Pring, who was recalled from his loan spell by the Robins.

But the defender is unable to feature this afternoon, having already appeared for the Blues in the competition this season.

Curtis is left out as a precaution after feeling unwell, while goalkeeper Alex Bass has a minor calf problem.

Pompey: MacGillivray; Johnson, Raggett, Nicolaisen, Brown; Naylor (c) Cannon; Harness, Williams, Jacobs; Marquis
Subs: Turnbull, Mnoga, Bolton, Downing, Whatmough, Morris, Close, Hiwula, Harrison
