Jack Whatmough has been nominated for the PFA Bristol Street Motors League One Player of the Month award for December.

The Pompey centre-back will hope to follow in the footsteps of John Marquis, who has won the past two prizes.

Whatmough helped the Blues secure three clean sheets during December and netted his second goal of the season in the Fratton victory over Peterborough.

He has been shortlisted alongside Crewe's Owen Dale, Plymouth's Luke Jephcott, Lincoln's Brennan Johnson, Wigan's Kyle Joseph, and Shrewsbury's Aaron Pierre.
