Pompey Women Sign Jaime Gotch

Blues bring in defender

24 July 2021

Pompey Women are delighted to announce the signing of central defender Jaime Gotch.

She joins the Blues after a two-year stint in south London with Charlton in the Championship.

Gotch featured 10 times for an Addicks side which managed to avoid relegation from the second tier last term.

She joined the club after leaving Reading’s youth set-up, having guided them to a third place finish in the WSL Academy league as captain.

Gotch also met current Blues skipper Jade Bradley and forward Tamsin de Bunsen, when playing for the Royals.

"I’m really looking forward to working with Jaime – she is a fantastic addition to the club."

Jay Sadler

Head coach Jay Sadler said: “Jaime is one of the most complete centre-backs I’ve seen and I’m delighted to have secured her signature.

“She is a great reader of the game and has a strong presence on the pitch, giving us more physicality in both boxes, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

“This coupled with her vision and excellent skill set to break lines from the back, both passing and driving with the ball, supports our principles and game style.

“She has a warming personality and will fit well into this group. I’m really looking forward to working with Jaime – she is a fantastic addition to the club.”
