George Byers starts for Pompey in this afternoon’s League One contest at Northampton.
He replaces Harvey White in one of four changes from the side that were beaten at Doncaster earlier in the week.
Top scorer John Marquis comes in to lead the line, with Lee Brown and Andy Cannon also returning to the team.
White drops to the bench along with Charlie Daniels and Ellis Harrison, while there is also a place among the substitutes for a fit-again James Bolton.
