Pompey Rank Highly In Fan Engagement Index

Blues finish ninth out of 91 clubs

5 May 2021

Pompey have once again ranked highly in the latest Fan Engagement Index.

The club finished ninth out of 91 Premier League and EFL clubs during a period that covered the 2019/20 campaign.

There was particular praise for dialogue with supporters, where the Blues received the joint second highest score.

Senior executives and board members hold regular meetings with the Heritage & Advisory Board and Tony Goodall Fans’ Conference.

Representatives from the club – including players and coaching staff – also frequently attend supporter club meetings.

"It’s great to receive recognition for our engagement with supporters and we always strive to have an open and honest relationship with them."

And when the Covid-19 pandemic saw last season abruptly halted, there were regular video messages from Mark Catlin to keep fans updated.

Pompey’s chief executive said: “It’s great to receive recognition for our engagement with supporters and we always strive to have an open and honest relationship with them.

“We continue to rank highly in a number of different engagement surveys conducted over the past few years and that is down to the hard work of the board, staff and players, who all deserve praise for their work with our fans.

“Recent events in football have only emphasised just how important supporters are to clubs and the vital role they can play.

“We have certainly missed having the Fratton faithful at games this season and look forward to welcoming them back in the near future.”
